Event Information
There are more than enough "typical" sprint triathlons and duathlons out there. How about a true test to end your 2017 triathlon season? A quarter-mile pond swim in mid-60s water temperature (for duathletes: a 2-mile killer trail run). Ten hard miles on your road bike, climbing a total of 1000 vertical feet. A 3-mile technical trail run through the woods of Nickerson State Park starting with an 18% hill descent and a deep-sand beach sprint, ending with a 12% ascent.
Warning!
This is a race for intermediate and experienced athletes. Expect cold water, steep hills and difficult cliffside running trails paved with tree roots. Wetsuits will be mandatory for triathletes. While there will be emergency medical support on-site, all participants race at their own risk.
"change-of-mind" policy
Registrants for either the triathlon or duathlon may change their mind up to 8am the morning of the race and switch to the other event. This decision must be made BEFORE you pick up your race packet.

Leg #3: All athletes. A 3-mile run into the seldom-visited backcountry of DCR-Nickerson State Park. Narrow trails and frequent rocks and roots underfoot require alertness and agility.
