1 Ocean Mile Miami Beach is a 1-mile run on the fast, hard-packed sand of beautiful South Beach designed for elite and beginner runners/walkers alike. This is your chance to test your speed and support the local environment with your friends and family. After finishing, runners will walk back the 1 mile of shoreline and have the chance to join Miami Beach’s most collaborative beach cleanup and awareness efforts. Our goal is to remove 100 pounds of plastics and other debris from our coastal waters while showcasing the global environmental threat of ocean trash. If we all do our part, we can clean Our Earth’s shoreline 1 Mile at a time. #RunAMileCleanAMile

Dedicated to our mission, the race course and event are designed to make the smallest environmental impact possible. Through a “bare minimum” approach to course structures and event production, we are proud to keep our mission through a 100% plastic-free and zero waste event.
After finishing the 1 mile run/walk, athletes will be provided with beach cleanup materials to then walk back the full mile of beach toward the post-race party and pick up litter between the water’s edge and the dune.
The beach cleanup will be activated by the Surfrider Foundation, a grassroots non-profit environmental organization that works to protect and preserve the world’s oceans, waves and beaches.
$5 from every registration will go to the Surfrider Foundation to continue these cleanup, advocacy, and sustainability efforts well beyond race day.
