Part of the RACE-MANIA programming line-up, this information tells you everything you need to know about SwimRun, the fastest growing multisport endurance sport today. Learn how the race works, where you'll find SwimRun events, what it takes to compete (or complete), the equipment you'll need and how to choose the perfect partner.
Overview

If you're a multisport athlete looking for your next new endurance event challenge SwimRun may just be the thing for you. A 2-person team-oriented event that will have you navigate multiple swims and runs together as a team onto your final destination, this new event format originated in Sweden but is now in the USA... and growing! Come to this information session and learn all about it.

  • How do teams navigate along the race course?

This information session will be led by Marcus Barton, an experienced SwimRun and endurance athlete and Jay Peluso, Owner & Race Director, IGNITE SwimRun

About Marcus Barton: Marcus’s experience in both triathlon and swimrun offers a unique perspective to endurance athletes who wish to try swimrun racing. Marcus Barton is a OTILLO Swimrun World Championship finisher, 2X winner of SwimRun Virginia and winner of SwimRun North Carolina and Catawba. Marcus is also an accomplished off-road triathlete. He has numerous top finishes at regional and national Xterra Triathlon races. In 2016, Marcus was a Mr. Xerra award winner, an honor that exemplifies the spirit of XTERRA – the challenge, commitment and camaraderie that is the essence of the sport. He is also a 3X USA Triathlon Age Group Champion.


About Jay Peluso: Jay is a certified USA Triathlon race director and national race director for Rev3 Triathlon and the owner of Peluso Open Water, the largest single USMS program in the VA LMSC, which focuses on open water training and racing. Jay has over 15-years experience directing large-scale races and has been the race director for SwimRun Virginia since its inception.
