    Section 1: Titan Band (Grades 5-8) || Mondays & Wednesdays, 4:00-5:30pm

    The Titan Band teaches youth to perform, improvise, and compose music in popular styles such as jazz, rock, pop, reggae, hip hop, R&B, and other contemporary genres. The ensemble features brass and woodwind instruments, guitar, bass, keyboard, drums, and vocals. This program focuses on the art of music-making within a band setting, with participants rehearsing together as a full ensemble. Private instrument lessons may be required as part of the program.

    Saturday rehearsals are centered on building the intergenerational community choir where Keema will join once a month to engage the youth in line dancing. Through reciprocal mentorship, older adults share lived experience and musical heritage, while young people introduce fresh influences, new genres, and digital creativity.

    Red Clay Dance Company: Dance (Ages 10-18) || Saturdays, 11:00am-12:00pm

    Participants are introduced to dance artivism, creative practice, and technique through the lineage and legacy of Dance Forms of the African Diaspora. Participants will gain moderate to advance levels of dance literacy, and exposure to diverse dance genres, professional companies, and female artivists of the African Diaspora.

    Saturdays starting February 7 until May 2 (no class on March 28) // The Windy City Ramblers are a Chicago-based brass band keeping the spirit of brass and Second Line culture alive. Blending New Orleans rhythms with Chicago’s jazz, blues, and gospel roots, they bring soulful energy and authenticity to every performance — creating music that celebrates heritage, joy, and unity.

    Inside the Music Library: BandWith Sound Session || René Avila
    René Avila, band leader of a traditional Afro Cuban band, will host the March Sound Session, sharing songs and stories that have inspired his Afro Cuban sound. Whether you are a lifelong listener or just discovering new sounds, this community-focused listening experience offers a welcoming space to explore how music moves us, connects us, and preserves history.

BandWith Chicago's mission is to promote wellness for underserved communities through lasting access to high quality performing arts instruction.

​Since our founding in 2013, BandWith has connected over 800 young people with outstanding arts instructors and mentors, and provided them with the performance opportunities and support they need to be successful. 

With our new Performing Arts Center & Community Hub at 148 S. California Avenue, we're excited to expand our program offerings to more youth and adults!
