About

Pedal for Protein (P4P) is a ride for a good cause!  After you register, it is easy to create your own fundraising page.  Ride overhead costs are covered by registration fees so all donations go to providing protein food for hungry people.  Your participation will help food pantries along the Northern Coast of California provide protein rich food such as peanut butter, canned tuna, chicken, yogurt and eggs to hungry families, seniors, homeless persons and children.  All funds raised will be donated to Northern California Food Banks and a selected international hunger project.

Route Summary (228.6 miles)

Day 1 – Mendocino to Gualala – 49.1 miles, 4,200 ft

Day 2 – Gualala to Santa Rosa – 68.9 miles, 4,675 ft

Day 3 – Santa Rosa to Ukiah – 64.8 miles, 1,800 ft

Day 4 – Ukiah to Mendocino – 45.8 miles. 5,125 ft

P4P is returning to a multi-day event.  This year’s tour will feature stops at multiple churches, providing an excellent opportunity to boost our fundraising efforts. The full tour is recommended for cyclists conditioned for moderate-to-long-distance rides on a road bike or tandem. If you cannot complete the full route, you can register for any number of days; however, you are responsible for your own transportation to and from your chosen start and end points. All full-tour riders are responsible for their own transportation to and from Mendocino.

A SAG vehicle will accompany riders daily to transport luggage, offer rest and snacks, and provide a lift if necessary. Host churches in Mendocino, Santa Rosa, and Ukiah will provide breakfasts, dinners, and overnight home stays, while a motel option will be available in Gualala. For participants attending Saturday's Presbytery meeting—where riders will be officially recognized—an optional overnight stay in Mendocino will be arranged for Friday, October 23rd.
