The Dash is back! Join the University of Maryland Alumni Association for our virtual Homecoming 5K, the Diamondback Dash. During Homecoming week (Oct. 16 – 22, 2022), Terp alumni, families, friends and fans will walk, jog or run whenever they’d like, from wherever they are.
You can participate as an individual or as a team, all in support of student success. Proceeds from the 5K will benefit the Alumni Association Student Scholarship Fund.
Grab your sneakers and let's raise some money for our students!
5K PREMIUMS
All registrants will receive a Terps branded running belt to help spread some Terp pride, wherever you go! Each registration also includes a print-at-home bib and finisher certificate. Running belts may not arrive until after the event ends, depending upon registration date.
SHARE YOUR SUCCESS
Once you complete your 5K, be sure to follow the instructions in your confirmation email to submit your official time, and receive your finishers certificate. Then post a picture on social media and tag us using #DiamondbackDash and #StayFearlessUMD. We will be sure to give you lots of virtual high-fives!
COMPLETE YOUR 5K WITH US IN COLLEGE PARK
This year we’re offering a hybrid 5K. You can do it wherever you want, but we’d also love to welcome you to College Park on Oct. 22 for our in-person event, which will take place along the beautiful Paint Branch Trail, one of the prettiest parts of College Park’s ever expanding trail network.
Simply register for the virtual 5K and then look for additional information in your confirmation email on how to complete your 5K with us before the Alumni Homecoming Tailgate and game.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
No refunds will be issued for cancellations. All registrants will still receive the Terps running belt. Registration for the Diamondback Dash Virtual 5K requires a minimum donation of $35-$39 and all proceeds benefit the University of Maryland Alumni Association Scholarship Fund. Gifts in support of the University of Maryland are accepted and managed by the University of Maryland College Park Foundation, INC, and affiliated 501 c (3) organization authorized by the Board of Regents. Contributions to the University of Maryland are tax-deductible as allowed by law. Please see your tax advisor for details. Individuals can participate in the College Park parkrun at no cost, but they will not receive any Diamondback Dash 5K premiums.
