Event Information
The Patriot Half is Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Cathedral Camp in East Freetown, MA. 2019 marks the 13th year of this award-winning race which was recognized as “Best Small Race“ (less than 1,000 athletes; Triathlon Business International, 2017 & 2013) and "Best Triathlon" (Competitior magazine, 2016). The Patriot Half is a production of Sun Multisport Events.
WAIT LIST Details
Registration for the wait list will open on January 1, 2019 at 9:00am EST. The wait list category will show on this page at that time.
Wait list spots are limited and are expected to fill quickly. While registering for the wait list does not guarantee an invitation to register for the race will come, historically, all wait list athletes have been offered a spot (but that offer could come as late as May). Invitations to wait list athletes to register for the race typically begin going out in late March/early April.
Race Distance
The Patriot Half triathlon features a 1.2 mile swim in Long Pond, the largest fresh water body of water in Masssachusetts, a 2-loop bike course offering 56 miles of beautiful, flat roads with some rolling hills and a 13.1 mile run along country roads, farms and lakes with aid stations at every mile.
The Patriot aquabike features the same 1.2 mile swim and 56 mile bike as the tri, without the run.

The Aquabike Delight is a 2-race package featuring the Patriot Half Aquabike and the Cranberry Trifest Olympic distance Aquabike (8/25/19; Lakeville, MA). Sign up for the AD package and you'll save $25 and lock in the lowest prices you'll find on these races.
Policies regarding Refunds, Deferrals & Transfers
Refunds: Refunds must be requested by March 31, 2019. Refunds will be issued less a $50 processing fee. Refund requests must be submitted via email to info@SunMultisportEvents.com. Refund requests received after March 31, 2019 will be denied. Note that any USAT fees collected during the registration process are transmitted directly to USAT and are not refundable by SME (contact USAT to submit a refund request). Online processing fees are also non-refundable.
Deferrals: Deferral requests must be submitted in writing to info@SunMultisportEvents.com. Deferrals may be granted under certain circumstances (e.g. pregnancy, military transfer) at the discretion of Event Management. Deferrals granted will require that the athlete pay an deferral fee when redeeming the deferred entry for the next year's race. A deferral granted for the 2018 race must be used for the 2019 race. The eligibility and deferral fee schedule is as follows:
- Deferrals requested by March 31, 2019 will pay a $25 deferral fee
- Deferrals requested between April 1, 2018 and May 10, 2019 will pay a $50 deferral fee
- NO DEFERRALS WILL BE GRANTED AFTER MAY 10, 2019.
Transfers: Registered athletes that are unable to race may transfer to another 2019 SME race. Transfer requests must be made no less than 30 days from the race date. If the registration fee for the race transferred to is LESS than the registration fee already paid, the difference in price is forfeited. If the registration fee for the race transferred to is MORE than the registration fee paid you will be required to pay the difference in registration fees.
Note that any USAT fees collected during the registration process are transmitted directly to USAT and are not refundable by SME (contact USAT for a refund request). Online processing fees are also non-refundable.
The exchange, transfer or sale of entries to other athletes is strictly prohibited.
Event Cancellation Insurance
The 2019 Patriot Half is protected by an event cancellation policy that will give athletes a full refund if the event is canceled due to adverse weather, natural catastrophe or acts of terrorism. Terms and conditions apply. See the "Policies" section on
