About
This is Cape Cod’s longest-running triathlon — and one of the oldest races in the world. There's hardly a triathlete in New England who hasn't been to picturesque Craigville Beach to start a season. This race offers both Sprint and Olympic distances as well as Aquabike, Duathlon and Aquathon options.

Swim: 1/4 mile

A modified time trial start at Craigville Beach (expect temps mid-70s). The course is rectangular in shape (approx 150 yards between the two turns). Wave conditions over the years have ranged from glass-calm to a moderate chop; never “big surf” in the protected waters of Nantucket Sound.

Bike: 10.2 miles

The “rolling hills” course is a shade over 10 miles: first entering the historic village of Centerville, then winding out to the villages of Osterville and Wianno before returning along a beachside road to Craigville Beach. Single loop; and no duplication of any stretch of road!

Run: 3.6 miles

The athletes head off toward Hyannisport, with a quarter-mile flat run evolving into a gradual climb for a quarter-mile, then a gentle rolling grade until the last mile which is a gentle downhill grade. A water stop is staffed by enthusiastic volunteers at the midpoint of the 3.6-mile run.

Swim: 0.9 mile

A modified time trial start at Craigville Beach (expect temps in the upper 60s). A single loop course extending beyond the Sprint course buoys in a rectangular shape.

Bike: 20 miles

The Olympic distance bicycle route will mirror the Sprint course with the exception of an additional loop starting in the village of Centerville and extending into Osterville.

Run: 6.2 miles

The Olympic distance run route will mirror the Sprint course with the exception of an additional loop.
Yes--your choice: 2-person or 3-person team! The captain should register, then go to 'manage team' to customize the name of the team and then invite who they want on their team.  Each member of the team must register and have a USAT membership (1-day or annual).

Clubs with six or more athletes racing in the Sprint or Olympic Triathlon, Duathlon or the Aquabike categories will be entered into the Lobster Pot Challenge!  The winning team brings home the Lobster Pot Trophy, plus wins free entries to future races and cool swag.  Athletes race as individuals and are still eligible for overall & age group awards--just make sure to enter your Club/Team name when prompted during registration.  Adult, collegiate and youth divisions - all teams are eligible.  Click HERE for more information.

Can't make it in person? No Problem!

Here's how Tri It Your Way works:

1) Pick your triathlon activities! Remember, you can either swim the 400 yards or choose another activity to do for 10 minutes. The bike needs to be at least 10 miles and the run needs to be at least a 5K (yes, you may go over, but not under!).

2) SAFETY FIRST! Make sure you are taking all the safety precautions when swimming, biking, and running. This means not swimming alone and following all the rules of the road (or trail). Just like all the precautions you take when training or racing an event, we want you to be safe.

3) Record each activity with your watch, or phone, or bike computer.

4) Document your tri! Whether it’s someone taking pictures of you “racing” or stopping for a selfie mid-run. We want to see you in action! Dogs, kids, partners, friends (socially distanced, of course) are encouraged to join in with you!

5) Go to our Facebook page and post your “race” data and your pictures. OR email your pics and race data to info@neeevents.com.

“Tri It Your Way” runs from May 31 - June 16. Race any day within this time period.

USA Triathlon now requires a weigh-in process for Clydesdale & Athena athletes.  To be eligible for awards, athletes must complete the weigh-in process and meet the prescribed weight (220lbs for Clydesdale and 165 for Athena) for their category within 24-hours of the race start.  Weigh-in will occur (in a private setting) at packet pick-up, 5:00 - 7:00pm Friday evening and 5:30-6:30am race morning.

This is a USAT Sanctioned race! That means that we meet or exceed strict guidelines set by USA Triathlon. This benefits the athlete by providing additional insurance coverage in case of injury.

You are required to have a USA Triathlon membership in order to race in any USAT-sanctioned event. Non-USAT members will be required to purchase a one-day event insurance license from USA Triathlon. Costs: $13/sprint, $18/olympic, $6 per relay team member,  $10 for youth. For more information about these USAT changes please click here.

Results will count toward national and regional rankings. All USAT rules and regulations will apply. Racers are subject to time penalties or disqualification for infractions of USAT rules included a positive drug test.

Race director does reserve the right to substitute a beach run for the swim if water temperature is below 65 degrees, water quality tests indicate any health hazard, or if surf conditions are extremely rough.

Packet pick-up and late registration (until sold out) will be 5:00 - 7:00pm Friday evening at the race site, and 5:30-6:30am Saturday at race site. All participants must BRING ID. Those who have an annual USAT membership MUST BRING THEIR USAT CARD as well.

You will NOT be able to pick up packets for others!

Transfers: Private transfers will be allowed for a $25.00 fee as long as both parties notify registration personnel by noon the Wednesday before the race. There will be no refunds unless you purchase Refund Protect during the registration process. There will not be a wait list.

Chip timed.  Race results are expected to be posted to NEEevents.com within a day.  A results link will be posted on this website as well as the race Facebook page.

Awards ceremony is tentatively scheduled for 10:00am day of race. Awards presented to top three competitors in each age group (male, female and non-binary) as well as top Elites, Clydesdale/Athena, First-Timers, Para-triathlete, Male, Female and Mixed Relay Teams, Duathlon and Aquabike. Those who cannot remain for the ceremony may pickup their award at the Awards table or by contacting us for shipping instructions. Results will be posted on our website within 24 hours of event.

For those traveling from afar, Cape Cod is awash with hotels, motor lodges, inns, bed and breakfasts, vacation cottages and AirBnB offerings.

Available at two parking lots: one adjacent to the beach; one across the road from the beach (park in the lot across the street if you want to leave before the Olympic distance athletes have finished their race). A short walk from both!

We all love our pets. But town regulations forbid dogs on or near the beach this time of the year. Leave the pooch at home!

We love our volunteers!  Friends and family members of athletes are encouraged to volunteer while watching the action. Priority parking, T-shirt, refreshments and swag bag are only some of the perks!
