Join South Florida's leading half and full marathon training program! Whether you're a first-timer aiming to complete your first marathon or looking to improve your previous performance, our program is designed for you.

Program Dates, Info Session, and Target Race

The 2025 Spring Program begins on Saturday March 1st, 2025.

There is no target race for the Spring program. However, TeamFootWorks hosts a mock half marathon race on Saturday May 31st for our program members. 

The Galloway Method (Run/Walk)
At TeamFootWorks, our training programs incorporate the Galloway Method, also known as Interval Training.

This approach breaks down the miles into short, manageable segments, where you'll run for 1 to 5 minutes, depending on your pace group. After each running segment, a 1-minute walk break allows you to recover, catch your breath, hydrate, and regroup before the next segment.

With interval training, you're not focused on running 13.1 miles all at once—just on conquering the next segment.
Choose Your Pace! Walkers Also Welcome!
We offer a range of pace groups to suit all speeds and abilities, including a dedicated group for walkers! Each pace group is led by experienced veterans who will support you every step of the way. You’ll receive weekly updates via email from your group leaders, as well as communications from our Program Director, Josh Leibman, and Founder, Laurie Huseby.
Saturday Long Runs

Long runs are a key component of any endurance training program! Our training sessions take place on Saturday mornings, starting from the FootWorks Running store in South Miami (5724 Sunset Dr.).

The first week begins at 7:00 am with a brief orientation followed by a 30-minute run/walk. For subsequent weeks, start times will vary depending on the distance, but we aim to complete our long runs by 8:00 am.

You'll be amazed at how quickly the time and miles fly by when you're running or walking with TeamFootWorks. The energy is contagious, and the friendships you build will make those early wake-up calls worth it.

Weekday Runs

While our long runs and walks build your endurance, it's the weekly running and cross-training that elevate your overall health and fitness. During the week, you’ll be responsible for completing two short runs or walks, each lasting no more than 60 minutes.

To help keep you on track, FootWorks hosts weekly fun runs on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm.
