Wait List Details
Registration for the Patriot Half wait list will open on Wednesday, 12/7/16, at 9:00am EST and you can sign up from this page (the wait list category will be displayed at that time). Wait list spots are limited and are expected to go quickly. Historically, all athletes that register for the wait list have been invited to register for the race. Invitations to athletes that get on the wait list to register for the race are not expected to start going out until March.
The Patriot Half will be held Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Cathedral Camp in East Freetown, MA. 2017 marks the 11th year of this award-winning race which was recognized as “Best Small Race“
(less than 1,000 athletes) in voting by athletes as part of the “Triathlete’s Choice Awards” program.
The Patriot Half triathlon features a 1.2 mile swim in Long Pond, the largest fresh water body of water in Masssachusetts, a 2-loop bike course offering 56 miles of beautiful, flat roads with a few rolling hills and a 13.1 mile run along country roads, farms and lakes with aid stations at every mile.
The Patriot Half aquabike is the same 1.2 mile swim and 56 mile bike as the tri, but skips the run.
Sun Multisport Events in partnership with USAT and Ironman certified coaches at VMPS will produce the Patriot Half Training Camp on Saturday, May 20, 2016. Based at Cathedral Camp, site of the race, this full day camp is the only one that gives athletes the opportunity to swim, bike and run on parts of the Patriot course with tips, guidance and advice from the Patriot Half Race Director and VMPS coaches. You can register for the camp at a later date, but if you select the Race + Camp registration option you'll save $30!
For more details on the Patriot Half Training Camp visit the Training Camp section of the Patriot page on the SME website.
The Triple Dog Dare!
Back for the 3rd year, the Triple Dog Dare (TDD) is a special package of 3 Sun Multisport Events (SME) triathlons at 3 different distances -- the Patriot Half, the Cranberry Trifest Olympic (8/20/17) and the SME sprint triathlon of your choice. SME sprints and their dates are the Westborough Sprint Triathlon (tentative date: 8/13/17), Whaling City Triathlon (tentative date: 7/30/17) and the Cranberry Trifest Sprint (8/19/17).
All TDD athletes save more than $40 on already low early bird pricing. Think of it this way... with TDD pricing ($429), you'll pay $249 for Patriot and just $180 for an olympic AND a sprint tri! TDD athletes also receive a commemorative t-shirt (distributed at Patriot) and earn well-deserved bragging rights. Whatta deal!
Note that the dates of the Westborough and Whaling City races are tentative. We don't expect them to change but if you sign up for the TDD and select one of these sprints and the date does end up changing you will be given the following options: (1) stick with the sprint you picked on it's new date; (2) switch to another SME sprint; or (3) request a refund for the sprint triathlon's portion of the TDD registration fee.
