Registration for the Zombie Run/Walk 5K and Pumpkin Run 1K (part of Spooner’s Jack O Lantern Festival) on Oct 10th is now open!

These runs are organized by Rails on Trails, and fees help support Spooner’s youth cross-country ski and mountain bike programs.

Date: 10 October, 2026

Time: 8AM (5K starts at 8AM, and 1K shortly after)

Start/Finish: Trailhead behind Spooner High School

Cost: $25 5K, $10 1K.

Register by 1 October to guarantee your swag! We will have limited items available for purchase at the event.

Same-Day Registration is from 7:00-7:45.

The Pumpkin Run 1K will be on paved trails only, starting with a challenging climb, traveling through a wooded portion of City Park, and finishing with a long downhill stretch. This is a great event for families with young children, as the paved trail is perfect for jogging stroller, youth bikes and unmotorized scooters. Expect fun chalk pumpkin drawings to find along the way.

The Zombie Run/Walk 5K will be a challenging mix of paved and unpaved terrain through the multipurpose trails of City Park. Expect uphills, downhills, and costumed “zombies” giving chase! This is a fun event for adults and older youth runners/walkers. Though there is no age minimum, parent waivers are required for any youth under 16.

All participants must sign a waiver. Prizes given for the 5K event top runners (female/male, youth/adult).
