The long-awaited RETURN of the Allyson Whitney 5K is finally here — get READY to lace up for 3.1 miles around beautiful Kauneonga Lake in Sullivan County, New York. We are excited to welcome runners, walkers, friends, supporters, and our entire endurance community back together for one unforgettable day of positivity, remembrance, inspiration, and celebration.

Join us on Saturday, September 19, 2026 in beautiful Kauneonga Lake, New York, for the return of this event at the same great location and amazing course that so many participants have enjoyed throughout the years.

Whether you are chasing a personal record, participating in your very first 5K, walking with friends and family, honoring someone special, or simply coming to enjoy an incredible community event — the Allyson Whitney 5K is designed for ALL ages and ALL abilities. All while supporting our initatives for young adult cancer resources.

Event Details

The event will be centered at the Kauneonga Lake Firehouse Pavilion & Senior Center which will serve as:

  • Registration & Check-In Location Senior Center 7:30 -9:30
  • Packet Pick-Up Location Senior Center
  • RACE/WALK START 9:45
  • Post-Race Celebration & Awards Location Pavilion

All proceeds from the event benefit the Allyson Whitney Foundation pursuits, helping support young adults impacted by rare cancers through financial Life Interrupted Grants, oncofertility support, HOPE comfort bags, research and awareness initiatives

Through endurance sports, community events, and fundraising efforts, the Allyson Whitney Foundation, a volunteer based organization continues to inspire hope, positivity, and support for individuals and families facing difficult cancer journeys.

Participants will enjoy a scenic USATF Certified 5K Course around beautiful Kauneonga Lake featuring lake views, community support, music, energy, and an unforgettable race day atmosphere.

Runners, walkers, first-time participants, families, endurance athletes, and community supporters are all welcome to participate.

All registered participants will receive:

  • Official AWF commemorative shirt 
  • Official Allyson Whitney 5K finisher medal
  • Pre- Race bagel breakfast with other goodies 
  • Access to the post-race celebration with food trucks, music, entertainment, and awards
  • Aid Stations along the way.

Family-Friendly Event

We love dogs - but - we ask that you do not bring your furry family member for liability insurance reasons. No pets can be on the course or property.

NOTE: There will be no refunds for any reason, you can however, transfer your bib to another.

RAISE $250 and as a thank you - receive your registration back!

Even $50 and $100 raised will receive a thank you prize.
