Part of the RACE-MANIA programming line-up, this workshop will get you ready for your next half marathon or marathon with assistance from Runner's World magazine "supercoach" Dr. Bill Pierce. Ideal for any runner preparing for a half marathon or marathon regardless of experience, each attendee will leave the workshop with a 16-week training program with exact distances and paces for each run workout. The 16-week training program includes cross training workouts, strength training exercises specifically to enhance running, and stretches important for maintaining flexibility. The training program has been used by thousands of runners to achieve PRs and Boston qualification.
What you will learn

Attendees of this 90 minute workshop will learn:

  • How to select target training paces for each run workout
  • How to use cross training to enhance half marathon and marathon training
  • How to incorporate functional strength training into a training program.
Location

This workshop takes place at the Boston University Fit Rec Center located at 915 Commonwealth Ave, Boston, MA. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start of your workshop.  You will be notified the week of the event with the room number where the workshop will be held.

About Dr. Bill Pierce
Dr. Bill Pierce, professor of Health Sciences at Furman University and Director of the Furman Institute of Running & Scientific Training (FIRST) is the lead author of Runner's World Run Less Run Faster and Runners' World Train Smart Run Forever. He is an experienced marathoner and listed as a marathon supercoach by Runner’s World magazine.
