The Kidz Medical Services ZooKidsDash will begin approximately one hour after the ZooRun5K.
ZooKidsDash participants ages 2-3 will receive one (1) parent wrist band with their registration packet. This wrist band should be worn by a parent if they would like to run the ZooKidsDash with their child. Additional family members may watch the race from the Finish Festival area.
At the completion of the race and Finish Festival celebration, ZooKidsDash participants will receive complimentary admission to Zoo Miami with their race bibs. Parents and family members may purchase 50% discounted admission tickets to join them in the Zoo. Zoo Miami annual pass holders who present their membership cards will receive complimentary admission to the Zoo after the race.
What time should I arrive?
We recommend all ZooRun5K participants to arrive at Zoo Miami by 7:00 A.M. If your child is only participating in the ZooKidsDash, we recommend arriving no later than 8:00 A.M.
Are strollers allowed at the race?
Registered participants for the ZooRun5K may bring children in a stroller on race day. Children in strollers who have not signed up for the ZooRun5K or ZooKidsDash will need to purchase 50% discounted admission in order to enter the Zoo at the end of the race (2 and under are free)*. We ask that any parent bringing a stroller please line up at the ‘Tortoise’ corral towards the end of the start line chute.
Can children participate in the 5K race?
Children over the age of 2 who are not in strollers must register for the ZooRun5K should they want to walk/run along with their parents. Children 2-9 may choose to register instead for the ZooKidsDash. Only registered participants with race bibs from the ZooRun5K or ZooKidsDash will receive a shirt, finisher medal and complimentary admission to Zoo Miami after the race.
Can I walk the ZooRun5K if I don’t run?
Yes, you may walk the race but you must be able to finish the 3.1 miles in 1 hour and 15 minutes. We recommend all walkers to signup and enter via the Tortoise corral.
Do I have to register to watch my child participate in the ZooKidsDash?
Parents do not need to register to watch their children participate in the ZooKidsDash. Parents who have not themselves signed up for the ZooRun5K will need to purchase 50% discounted admission in order to enter the Zoo at the end of the race.*
Race Management reserves the right to postpone or cancel the event due to events out of Management's control such as a natural disaster or other emergencies. No refunds will be issued under these circumstances. Management may also alter the course and distances for the safety of the athletes.
