Event Information
The Race for Awareness, a 5K Run/Walk, began in 2008. Over the past several years, thousands of runners and walkers have participated and hundreds of new bone marrow donors have been recruited for the national registry. The Kiwanis Club of Pinecrest/Palmetto Bay is once again the Presenting Sponsor for this event. This is an exciting event catering to a wide group of persons in our community. The race is for serious runners as well as hobbyists. It is also an opportunity for businesses in the community to promote their products and services by becoming a sponsor.
Location

The race will take place at the beautiful Larry & Penny Thompson Park, adjacent to Zoo Miami.  This will be a 5K Cross Country course!

Make this a family activity, and take advantage of three mammoth water slides carved into a rock mountain. Each slide offers a different sensation as sliders spill into a cool refreshing pool. There's also a sandy white beach and clear blue lake that visitors boast is "the ideal inland swimming spot."
