Event Information

The BURGER KING Beach Run is an experience unlike any other - all to benefit local students! Runners begin with a unique course along beautiful South Beach and finish on the sand for a beach party. Interactive inflatables, live music and a DJ will keep the beach party going while the Hydration Station will refuel everyone after a day of fun in the sun. The real plus? All proceeds benefit local high school seniors through the BURGER KING Scholars program.

COURSE MAP

Participants will start on the sand at 7th and Ocean and head west towards Washington and turn north. The course turns back east at Lincoln Road, where the early morning coffee drinkers and brunchers will get to watch the participants race past the shops and restaurants. Once we’re back Oceanside, then it’s a quick down and back along the boardwalk to then head south and finish back on the sand at the BK Beach Run Post-Race Festival! Click here for the Course Map.

THE RACE EXPERIENCE

Runners begin with a unique course along beautiful South Beach and finish on the sand for a beach party. Interactive inflatables, live music and a DJ will keep the beach party going while the Hydration Station will refuel everyone after a day of fun in the sun. The real plus? All proceeds benefit local high school seniors through the BURGER KING Scholars program.

BEACH PARTY

The Family Fun Zone will provide arts & crafts, toys and treats for the young ones while a DJ, interactive inflatables and live music will bring the post-run fun.

TECH SHIRTS

The first 1,000 who register will receive a souvenir Burger King Beach Run 5K tech shirt.

KIDDIE DASH

A special race for those ages 3-8, the Kiddie Dash will offer a quick race and a chance for the smaller runners to win great prizes.

PACKET PICKUP

Packets can be picked up in advance starting 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6 through 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11 at FootWorks in South Miami.

FootWorks is located across from the Barnes & Noble at 5724 Sunset Dr.

Store hours are:
Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

Packets can also be picked up on Race Day from 7 to 8:25 a.m. at the Registration Tent located on the sand at 7th Street.

AGE GROUPS

14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65 & older

AWARDS

Awards for overall male and female. Medals for the top three in each age group. All 5K finishers and Kiddie Dash finishers will receive a medal.

FINISHER MEDALS

All participants will receive a Burger King Beach Run finisher medal as they cross the finish line.

The two garages closest to the race are (parking fees additional): 7th Street and Collins Avenue – Garage (210 7th Street) 13th Street and Collins Avenue – Garage (1301 Collins Avenue)

RACE DAY SCHEDULE

7 a.m. - Registration opens

8:25 a.m. - Registration and Packet Pickup Closes

8:30 a.m. - 5K Begins at Start/Finish Line.

9:15 a.m. - Overall winners collect awards at the stage, age group at registration

10:30 a.m. - It's a wrap!

ELECTRONIC TIMING

The ChronoTrack B-Tag timing system by Split Second Timing will be used to time the race. For results and event photos, please visit www.teamfootworks.org.

REFUNDS, EXCHANGES, & TRANSFER POLICY

Absolutely no refunds, exchanges, or transfers.

HEAT WARNING

Temperature/humidity can be high in South Florida. Participants should drink plenty of fluids (non-alcoholic) for 48 hours prior to, during and upon finishing the race. Beware of heat-injury symptoms (Dizziness, no sweating, nausea, cramps, redness, incoherent speech and thoughts). Seek immediate assistance if symptoms occur. Wear loose, light colored clothing.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Race Management reserves the right to postpone or cancel the event due to events out of Management’s control such as a natural disaster or other emergencies. No refunds will be issued under these circumstances. Management may also alter the course and distances for the safety of the athletes.
