About the Competitions in the Team Challenge
- The 4 x 1600m Running Relay: This is a 4 x 1600m relay race that will take place on the super-fast INDOOR 200 meter track (complete with banked turns!) at Boston University's Track & Tennis Center which is located about 0.4 mile from BU's Fit Rec Center, the site of all other RACE-MANIA events and activities. Each member of the 4-person team will run 1600m on the track in traditional relay team fashion... Athlete 1 runs 1600m and then hands the baton to Athlete 2 who runs 1600m and so forth. There will be two 10-team heats -- at 9:00am and 9:45am -- and teams select their heat when registering for the overall Team Challenge. Your team must include at least 1 female.
- FastSplits Indoor Bike Time Trial (TT): The TT has each member of a 4-person team hook their bike to a CompuTrainer and ride a 10k course. CompuTrainers simulate the feel of the road with varying degrees of road resistance just like the real thing! Each team member must complete the 10k and the combined time of all 4 members forms the TT Team Time. TT heats are offered throughout the day and you select your TT heat when registering. The TT takes place on the RACE-MANIA expo floor inside BU's Fit Rec Center. Your team must include at least 1 female.
- Relay Team Swim Challenge: The Swim Challenge is a 800 yard relay swim event that requires each member of a 4-person team to swim 200m yards. The combined time of each member will be the Team Time. The Swim Challenge takes place in the world-class competition pool inside BU's Fit Rec Center. There will be two heat times (12:00pm and 12:30pm). Your team must include at least 1 female.
IMPORTANT: SELECT YOUR RACE CATEGORY CAREFULLY!
