About

The acronym "FIBArk" stands for First in Boating in the Arkansas River - originally devised by a group of community members in the 1930's, many of them real estate agents, to draw attention to Salida and give an opportunity for local boaters to demonstrate their paddling skills.

Flash forward to today ... FIBArk is America's longest standing whitewater festival, and now features live music, bike and foot races, local art, vendors, and food trucks in addition to our fantastic river events.

All registration payments are final. If an event is canceled due to low water levels, your registration payment will be donated to the FIBArk non-profit organization and continue to provide access to education, events, and programs in whitewater paddle sports.
