O'Niantic 5K
RACE BIB / SWAG:
If you registered by Sunday, March 12, your race bib was mailed to you this week. Only go to the Registration & Bib Pick-up tent with questions or if you did not receive your bib in the mail - it will be open 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM outside Niantic Bay Bicycles, 8 Methodist Street.

If you registered after Sunday, March 12, pickup your race bib at the Registration & Bib Pick-up tent - 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM outside Niantic Bay Bicycles, 8 Methodist Street. To speed up your bib pick-up experience, log in to your haku participant account and download or print your own unique Check-in Pass before you get in line. The pass can be downloaded and saved in your phone images or Apple Wallet, or printed out. 

Your St. Paddy’s themed beanie will be available for pick up at the SWAG tent before or after the event.
Please note: No baggage check available on race day.
PARKING / DIRECTIONS:
Parking is available in municipal lots located off Hope Street or park on Main Street in downtown Niantic. DIRECTIONS

GIVE BACK:
Please help give back to the community that has opened their streets for race participants. Donate nonperishable food in the HMF Can tent at Packet Pickup to support the Gemma E. Moran United Way/Labor Food Center. HMF Can is supported by Stop & Shop, pick up a free reusable shopping bag as a thanks for your donation; plus, all who donate are entered in a raffle to win a gift card from Five Churches by the Bay.

RACE START:
The race will start on Hope Street, west of Methodist Street and will consist of one corral with “Self Seed” pace per mile signs to assist with participant spacing.

RACE COURSE & SUPPORT:
Police and course monitors will be on the course. However, the roads are open to local vehicle travel. Markings & Amenities:
  • Yellow signs with blue arrows mark all turns
  • All mile points are marked on the road and with signs
  • Clocks at finish line and along the course
  • Hydration - Pre/Post Race & Mile 1.5
  • Medical personnel on site
  • Event alert system notifications in the pre-race area and at the water station

POST RACE:  10:00 AM
Enjoy a fresh bagel or donut from Flanders Donut & Bake Shop and snacks from Bakery On Main and LesserEvil in the post-race area adjacent to the finish line on Methodist Street.  Registered participants can also enjoy a complimentary Five Churches Brewing craft beer after the race at Five Churches By the Bay. Must be 21+ years of age with proper ID to receive the complimentary beer.

AWARDS CEREMONY: around 10:45 AM outside Five Churches By the Bay (215 Main Street)

TIMING / RESULTS / AWARDS:
This event is timed by Bay State Race Services and uses the B-Tag timing system with timing chip attached to the back of the race bib. Please wear the race bib on the front of the shirt. All times are based on NET time (timing mats located at the start and finish).

Preliminary results will be available onsite. Final results will be posted later in the day. RESULTS

HMF FITKIDS:
Online registration available through race morning. On-site kids' race registration and bib pickup at the Registration & Bib Pick-up tent. Kids aged 2-11 can run ¼ mile, ½ mile or 1 mile races. All kids races are $12. All participants receive a finisher's medal and custom race swag. 

All HMF FitKids Runs will start and finish at the 5K Finish line on Methodist Street.
 
LUCKY CHALLENGE:
Good luck on race 3 in the series!  There is still time to join the 4-race Challenge, register for O'Hartford 5K on March 19 and add last weekend's two 5Ks virtually to earn matching swag and get one large blingy medal at the end! LEARN MORE
 
EVENT MERCHANDISE:
Custom sweatshirt and adult and youth tees will be available for purchase at the HMF Merchandise tent on race day, payment by major cards or Apple Pay only, no cash accepted.

EMERGENCY TEXTING:
HMF emergency texting is used ONLY in situations such as event delays, cancellations or last-minute event changes to relay pertinent details. We never use this for marketing or solicitation.

Confirm you elected to receive emergency text messages in your haku profile: once logged in to your account, select "Your Registrations" and check the blue box "I Want To Get Event Updates Via Text:".
