Each year we enjoy the Aisling Center 5K Run and Walk. This fundraising event contributes to the Aisling Center's ability to provide vital programs in social services, youth, seniors, and culture. Your participation contributes directly to strengthening our community. By registering alone, these funds help in providing our Young @ Heart group with a weekly nutritious lunch at the center, fostering social engagement among seniors who might otherwise be isolated. Your contributions and donations also extend to home-bound seniors, ensuring they receive vital meals each week. Additionally, with your help, we facilitate the Foroige Youth Club, Celtic Summer Camp, and Leadership for Life, equipping young people with critical life skills. Your generosity also ensures that community members in need may access social work, welfare, and Medicare services without any cost. By donating, you're not just giving; you're strengthening the fabric of our community.
Pauline Boylan-Coll was a wonderful and inspiring member of the Yonkers and
Woodlawn communities. She was a force of nature, fearless, and irrevocably strong. She
tirelessly worked and helped to establish the Gaelic for Girls clubs in NY. She never gave
up on anything and shared her loving passion with the young girls on these teams.
Pauline was on the New York for Girls board for ten years. No matter what was said at
those meetings, Pauline always made sure that "it's all about the kids" and she showed
so much love and support for the young ladies she coached. Pauline kept close
connections with the community here and was loved and cherished at home in Ireland.
She made a huge impact on the girls she coached, instilling strong will and
determination. She is the reason why so many girls are able to enjoy Gaelic Football and
inspired the establishment of Camogie clubs in the area. Pauline always stood up for
what she believed and spearheaded women's rights on the sports field. She is sorely
missed, but her impact and memory will live on forever.
