Romero Animal Foundation 5K

Join us on Sunday, January 24, 2027, for the 2nd Annual Romero Animal Foundation 5K – Run For Their Lives at beautiful Zoo Miami. What started as a community race has grown into a powerful movement supporting homeless and rescued animals throughout South Florida.

The 2026 event brought together more than 250 runners, walkers, volunteers, and animal lovers, raising awareness for animal welfare and finding loving homes for many adoptable animals. In 2027, we're building on that success with an even bigger celebration of compassion, community, and second chances.

Whether you're chasing a personal record, enjoying a walk with family and friends, or simply supporting a meaningful cause, every participant helps provide critical resources for animals in need. Proceeds from the event support veterinary care, food programs, rescue efforts, spay and neuter initiatives, and adoption services that directly improve the lives of animals across Miami-Dade County.

Participants will enjoy a scenic course through Zoo Miami, a festive finish-line celebration, opportunities to meet adoptable pets, and the chance to be part of a mission that saves lives. Every step taken on race day helps create a brighter future for animals waiting for their forever homes.
